"The
Lynx is a powerful and inspirational story of courage
and commitment to freedom.
It is also a fascinating view of the story of Cuba
during the Cold War. I highly recommend it!"
- Admiral James Stavridis, USN
(Ret.) Commander US Southern Command 2006-2009. Supreme
Allied Commander NATO 2009-2011. Author of "The
Accidental Admiral."
Born in Havana in
1951, Victor Nickolich and his family became stranded in Cuba after the
1959 Marxist takeover. At age nineteen, Victor joined a skydiving club
with the ulterior objective to hijack a jump plane and flee to the
United States.
Instead, he became the country's undisputed national champion and
three-time member of their national team. An internet entrepreneur and
retired skydiving instructor and Tandem Master, Victor now resides with
his wife and their two children in the United States.
The Lynx, a gripping nonfiction novel based on a true story and
historical facts, is Victor's first published book.
